Welcome soccer coaches, players and parents to the Academy of Dutch Soccer website.
My name is Christiaan Liezenga (35), but most people call me Coach Chris since pronouncing my last name takes some effort. I'm originally from the Netherlands, where I started as a soccer coach and followed the Royal Dutch Soccer Academy (KNVB) Trainer / Coach Level Three Degree - Specialized in Youth Select Teams. Along with completing this course; in 1999, I started training and coaching players from U10 to U16 at Blauw wit '34 which is located in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. September 2004 through January 2006, I was a soccer trainer at Soccer Centers in Somerset, New Jersey. During my time there, I trained 12 - 14 soccer teams (boys and girls) from 8 to 18 years of age and a U35 ladies team. All youth teams that I trained during my time in New Jersey made progress. Some teams became Champion of their flight, others were second in their flight or won tournaments during one or several of these three seasons.
When I returned to the Netherlands in February of 2006, I took some time off and then began to train and coach a U14 boys team at Blauw wit '34 for the spring season of 2007. This team had a good season and three wonderful tournaments finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd while remaining undefeated for 12 consecutive tournament games out of a total of 13.
In the Netherlands, I studied at several vocational schools and colleges. I received diplomas in administration and occupational therapy. I also have a bachelor’s degree in social pedagogic (children) help care. During this period of time, I was also the head camp leader at a youth summer camp (www.folkshegeskoalle.nl). At this camp, fun combined with education was a recurring goal for ages 10 to 16. At the same time I was doing volunteer work with disabled children. I spent time with these children while they pursued their love of horses, by allowing them to spend time with and ride horses with my guidance and support.
As your Trainer / Coach I am dedicated to improve your team’s skill by using the Dutch coaching - training method of soccer combined with my own "Pressure Method". I am available for clubs and travel teams located in the Greater Philadelphia area, Chester County and vicinity for team trainings, coaching or weekly classes. It is necessary that the soccer club or team provides a soccer field on which we can perform trainings. I am also available for private trainings for those that would like an individual approach to their training.

In the Champion section of this website are pictures and achievements of the teams that became champions or won tournaments while I was their coach.
